Overview

StraySpotter helps users view, post, and discuss animal sightings. The app uses account, location, image, and user-generated content data to support core functionality.

How We Use Information

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time in the app by going to Profile > Delete Account.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile information, sightings, comments, replies, notifications, and uploaded sighting images from StraySpotter.

Limited moderation-related records may be retained only when necessary for safety, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

If you sign in again after deleting your account, a new account may be created and previously deleted StraySpotter data will not be restored.

Data Sharing

StraySpotter does not sell your personal information. The app relies on service providers such as Firebase, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple to operate authentication, storage, database, and notification features.

Data Retention

Account and app data are kept only as long as needed to operate StraySpotter, unless you delete your account or a different retention period is required for legal or safety reasons.

Children

StraySpotter is not designed specifically for children.
